Treating New Zealand Gambling Addictions: Group Therapy

Group Therapy Courses for Problem Gamblers

Woodlands Trust group therapy courses are designed for individuals who are experiencing gambling addictions and gambling problems and for whanau or significant others concerned about the gambling behaviour of an individual or family member. Consequently, this programme is very structured and intensive.

Woodlands Trust is no longer a Contracted Provider with the Ministry of Health effective 1/1/2018 and will no longer be offering Group Therapy programmes. Unfortunately, Woodlands Trust and the Ministry of Health could not reach agreement on terms and conditions for new contracting from the 1/1/2018 until the 30/6/2019.

Woodlands Trust wishes all of it’s “very special clients the very best in moving forward” and we have greatly appreciated the privilege of being able to work with you over the last 18-year period. Each and every one of you are unique and you now all know the motto of the Woodlands Trust:

“Possunt Quia Posse Videntur”
“They can because they think they can.”

We know you all have the ability to make good choices moving forwards.

The Following list of Providers will also be able to assist you (should you wish) and they are all Free Providers contracted under the Ministry of Health. Remember if you need help and assistance or someone to “talk to” help is always available 24/7. These following services have caring and competent clinicians who will be able to assist you.

The Woodlands Trust crest is symbolic of what we hope to inspire in people. Translated from Latin, the words "They can because they think they can" represents the first steps towards change. Every individual is unique and has a special contribution to make. We are merely facilitators of the change process, no more and no less.

"Woodlands Trust offers New Zealanders help overcoming gambling addictions and gambling problems."
